The Shelter in a Kindergarten in Cherkasy Needs Help

We are collecting $5,000 for repairs and $1,247 for furniture until February 28

About shelter

Children spend a lot of time in this shelter, sometimes entire days. Currently, the conditions are far from comfortable: dust falls from the walls, the floor is made of doors covered with linoleum, the tables are also made of doors, and the beds are constructed from pallets.
In two small rooms, 38 children are accommodated, including children with special needs.

The preschool educational institution, which is part of the communal property, provides education and development for 82 children aged 1.5 to 7 years. The institution operates 4 groups: 1 for nursery-age children and 3 for kindergarten-age children.

The educational process is organized by a dedicated team of 29 staff members, 5 of whom are internally displaced persons.

Particular attention is given to children from vulnerable categories, totaling 42. Among them:
• 17 children of combatants,
• 14 children who are internally displaced persons,
• 4 children from low-income families,
• 2 children with disabilities,
• 4 children with special educational needs (including 1 child with cerebral palsy),
• 1 child from a large family.

The institution fosters an inclusive environment, with a dedicated group for 4 children with special educational needs, supporting their comprehensive development.

This preschool not only provides education but also supports children and families in need, especially during challenging times.

Every contribution will help create a safe and comfortable environment for the children.
