What do Ukrainian children need help with?

Electricity, lighting, and ventilation

Prolonged stay in underground shelters with gloomy lighting, stale air, bad smells, high humidity, and mold can seriously impact a child’s health and lead to:● Endocrine system issues; Attention deficit;● Allergies;● Respiratory problems;● Immune system issues.

Compact three-tier beds

When an air raid alert starts during nap time in the kindergarten, children are brought to the underground shelter, where they need to continue sleeping. Unfortunately, shelters usually have very limited space, which requires compact furniture.

Desks and chairs

When an air raid alert sounds during lessons, suitable comfortable furniture is needed in the underground shelters to continue the activities.

Volunteers in Chernihiv, having compiled a list of schools that can be quickly restored, initiated the project 'Angels of Freedom' and called on all concerned donors from different countries to join it.

In July 2022, students from one of the most damaged schools in Chernihiv reached out to volunteers in Kazakhstan, asking for help to repair their school by sending drawings of their school.

In July 2022, children from one of the most affected schools in Chernihiv reached out to volunteers in Kazakhstan for help to repair it.

Coordinating efforts with the Education Department of Chernihiv, the charitable movement has already managed to help restore and equip underground shelters in 6 schools and 10 kindergartens in the city with the support of donors.

We established a connection with the Department of Education of Chernihiv city and, with the help of our donors were able to equip the school’s shelter.
